Worship

Worship is at the center of life at St. John's. Through worship, we praise God, observe the sacraments of the church, and grow closer to one another in community. Worship also provides us with the unique opportunity to hear and live into God's Word.

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month in all worship services at St. John's. Preschool age children have the opportunity to attend Children’s Worship immediately following the children’s sermon at all services. A nursery is also available for children birth to three years old during our worship services.

We invite you to join us for worship through one of the following opportunities:

Traditional Worship

11AM Sundays in the Sanctuary

This formal service features a traditional order of worship, music led by our Chancel Choir and pipe organ, and an inspirational sermon from one of our ministers.

The 11:00 am Traditional Worship Service is televised at 2:00 pm each Sunday on Comporium Cable Channel 2 (CN2).

Contemporary Worship

9AM Sundays in the St. John's Center Gym

This relaxed service features an ancient but creative order of worship, modern music led by our praise band, and an inspirational sermon from one of our ministers.

Children's Worship

All Sunday Services

Preschool-age children have the opportunity to attend Children’s Worship immediately following the children’s sermon during both worship services. During Children’s Worship, we teach a Bible story and incorporate a variety of traditions that are used in our worship services. We light the Christ candle, take up an offering, pray together, and introduce the liturgy used in our services so the children have a better understanding of the meaning behind our worship traditions.
